Tennis Ball Activity

During this activity, we divided the class into two separate teams where we were given the challenge to roll the tennis ball down in such a way that the ball would touch all of our hands and reach the last persons before the opposing group finished.

Both groups had to employ certain tactics in order to accomplish the goal first. Both groups took into account the affect that gravity has on the tennis ball and used it to our advantage. At first, we had one person(holding the ball) touch the tennis ball to everyone's hand. We next employed a tactic in which we created an slope of zero on the xy plane and let gravity roll the ball downward. In the end, we developed the method where the team put their hands cupped below one anothers and then we let one person drop the ball into top persons cupped hands. He then proceeded to open his hands and the ball would drop all the way down.

The criteria of this project changed over time; from: no criteria, one person cannot hold the ball, to the ball must pass through air before it touches another person. I believe that both groups did exceptionally well where we adapted to the needed criteria so overall I would not change anything.
